Beach Trips

I spend almost every weekend on the beach. Well, I'm on beer can island at least. It's a little island in the middle of Tampa bay where a bunch of boats pull up. It's a great place to hang out and drink beer. Furthermore, I live on the water and we're less than 2 miles from the island, so many a late night has turned into many an early morning after running out there after adult beverage establishments have closed.

Me and my gal, before the kids...

Excellent!!
Now that's relaxing!
Florida is in the sub-tropical region, and for those way up north and ("younger"..) may not realize just how sun and humidity work.
There are many 'private' beaches and small secluded islands that really are a slice of paradise. For those that don't want tan lines, it's no big deal, and common.
I've heard of Beer Can island, and it sounds like a fun social place to boat ride to...

Bathing suits? Who needs them? :D
Ooops - my mistake!

Some will take that as meaning "everywhere"!

Jeeze............. .... :o

Joe,
Beer Can Island (there are 3 of them in the Bay area), is a great place to be! A good buddy of mine has a 33' Contender (70+ mph boat). One Sunday, we opted to take a "beer can tour" and visit each and every beer can island in the area. Truthfully, my Beer Can Island is the best (lower Tampa bay, near the power plant). It's still kind of a family place, so the all over tan is usally reserved for middle-of-the-week visitors. All-over weekend tans are more for offshore grouper fishing trips. However, we've had some great times on the island.

Wow! That is a nice boat!

Do you have pics of the outing(s)? I can't imagine the gas cost. But, if one has the boat, the cost is no big deal.
