Best bottom feeder to put with Goldfish?

Hi,
I have a 55g and 5 goldfish in my setup. I have a whisper filter that hangs on the outside of the tank. I have had plecos in the past, but from what I have read on here, they make more waste than they clean. So, what is recommended as far as bottom or algae feeders for a tank like mine?
Also, I would like to start up a 10g tropical tank with guppies. What should I use for bottom feeders for that tank?

I know this post is a couple of weeks old so I hope you see this before you go buying bottom feeders for the goldfish tank.

I don't think you need one. My goldfish are constantly scouring the gravel for any missed food. IMO they are the best bottom fedders and if they'd work in my other tank I'd put them in there also.

For the 10 gallon... most people swear by otocatfish and smaller cory type. Good bottom feeders, stay small and you can get 5 or so of them, especially important since they like to be in groups.
