never used canisters before, they are too expensive for me, i just use huge HOB fliters. i think to emperor 400s are plenty good, thats what i plan on using. just make sure that your getting at a filter GPH of at least 10x the volume.

i got a fluval 405 on ebay for 135 bran new, and i got a koralia 600 on sale for 25 dollars
