Best Fish You've Kept

I stopped eating fish after I became a fish keeper!
It's like keeping a dog and eating dog meat.

Well, maybe not, but seriously, I can never bring myself to harvest fish I don't want anymore for even practical uses like garden fertilizer or feeders for other fish.

Yeah, I don't think I would have the heart to harvest a fish, under any circumstances. After all, it's like a dog, but, you know... a fish. It's something you raise up and care for.

As far as eating fish, I, uh... I mean, I like sushi. I guess I could always just eat vegetable rolls.

Well, I've got to say loaches of several species are the best! (if you don't know me, loaches are my "thing"). I've had clowns, sids, kuhlis, histrionicas...well, the list goes on & on...& on. After almost 40 years of keeping fish, they are my hands down favorites still & there are yet more loaches I want to try to keep!!

But I also like catfish of most kinds...but loaches take up most of my bottom space, lol. There's only so much room for tanks & time for maintenance...Ack, time's awasting & loaches tend to live a longish while, I need more!!

As far as eating fish, I, uh... I mean, I like sushi.

Yeah I like seafood too much. When I first got my cherry shrimp there were in a holding tank on my kitchen counter. One night I was peeling shrimp for dinner right in front of them. Wondered for a minute if I should feel guilty, nah kept prepping dinner.

Yeah, I always felt kind of uncomfortable eating fish sticks in front of my goldfish. XD

And fishorama, loaches and catfish are awesome! Kuhlis are my favorite loaches, and corydoras are up there for my favorite cats.

My husband is fish & seafood averse...but I love seafood, fish sticks & some not too fishy whitefish, maybe salmon once a year when he's not around. No raw fish or seafoods in any form (it's not people safe IMO). My sister & nieces made me eat eel once (yes, cooked!).

But I used to make seafood mixes & even beefheart food for my very spoiled discus juveniles...ah, the things we do for love!!

I love seafood, but only eat SW things, I only have FW tanks==so no guilt.
My fishes eat better then me. They eat mostly live and frozen fish food.

My best fish- Hands down, my Snakeskin Barbs. Beautiful and peaceful.
