best PUMP for wet/dry

Hi. I've had marine tanks for the past 2-3 years where I keep native caught marine fish from here in the northeast US. I currently have a 75g setup with 2 Aqueaclear 500's (110's) and two 500 GPH powerheads as I've always been a big fan of maximum water movement. I'm upgrading to a 125g tank I bought used. The tank came with a bunch of stuff including a wet/dry, something I have no experience with.

The 125g tank has a hole drilled in the bottom to allow water to drain via gravity into an approx 15 gal tub loaded with bio balls. The water then goes into a 15 gal sump where I will use sponges for mechanical filtration. I now need to buy an external pump to pump the water from the sump up about 4 feet into a hole drilled near the top of the tank.

Any recommendations on a specific pump that would fit my needs? What type of flow rate should I look at? Which is the best pump out there?

I saw these, any of them good?

Please advise and thanks in advance.

Lifeguard get's my vote.. had a magdrive and it quit while I was on vacation last year....(not good) the Lifeguard has been awesome and it seems to run cooler???

I have an Iwaki (it came with the tank along with a spare..the guy said he was having problems so bought a new one..I took the impellar out cleaned it and it's fine)

the one that's on the tank has been running fine..it is pretty quiet.(more so than my quiet one)

All I have to say is that unless you have the proper CITIES permits you are not really smart takeing things from the wild. It is also very sad to see someone say they love reefing and/or marine life(and one would think so if they see someone doing it for 2-3 years) then for them to go out and collect specimens without haveing done the proper research on the local ecosystem...Well it makes me want to throw up a little in my mouth. Please save to wild life and buy as much sock CB as possible, I am not trying to be mean you just happend to touch a subject that i feel VERY strongly about.

Not that I have goten that out of my system lets work on your tank!!!!

First and foremost DO NOT i repeat DO NOT use bio-balls they are very bad!!!! Use little peices of LR instead. As for a pump you could go with a Mag-Drive as it will work both internal and external and they are of good to better quality.

Welcome to AC and I hope I didn't come off to harsh!!
