Betta Advice Please!

I may do some research on plants. I just don't want to have to deal with plants dieing and fouling the water and I really don't want to have special substrate that isn't easy to clean. Dirty substrate is about my biggest pet peeve, even if I can't see the wastes and stuff, I know its there so it just bugs me. I ordered quite a few of the more realistic silk aquarium plants that are specificly made with bettas and other delicately finned fish in mind. I'll just have to see what the plants I ordered look like.

silk is the way to go as far as fake plants and bettas go.

if you want anything live java ferns and java moss are the low maintinence standbys i have them in my betta tank at work with no light - just attached to some drift wood w/ thread
