My Betta has recently started a bad habit of attacking my 2 corys. One of them now has a ripped tail fin. do you have any suggestions on what to do? (I'm guessing I can't do much) They both normally stay in their own corners, but once in a while, he catches a glimps of one and he charges. Thanx

Hi there. I have had several bettas, and I have never been able to keep them with any other fish, or even in aquariums near each other because they were too aggressive. The only suggestion that I have for you is to get a separate aquarium for the betta. I used to keep mine in a 2 gallon aquarium, and they always lived for several years. Good luck with yours.

Heh, how big is this tank? Most times bettas leave cories alone. You may just have a particularly aggressive betta or it could be a line of sight/small territory issue. You may try adding more plants, decorations or what have you to break up the line of sight and give the cories a better shot at not being picked out and charged.

That's the thing, they're in a a heavily planted 10 gal (pics in My Tanks). He used to be in a 3 gal. I couldn't put him back in there. They both have plenty of room and the cories even have a little tera cota pot for them to hide in. Bubbles will charge them in there also. I think he is just mean. :(
Thanks again guys!

You may be right. Some fish are just not as well mannered as others no matter if they are betta, tetra, guppy or molly. Sorry to hear that it's not working out.

Thanks Ems! :) It's my newest hobby (Obession). It's taken a while to get to that. I'm pretty proud of it, although i've been having trouble with a little algea lately. I'll be updating them soon!
Also, about my corys, I think I'll play referee a little longer, but if it gets too rough, i'll have to separate them.

this is Kind Funny because My albino cory has been casing my betta around the tank today and then I see my betta just hanging out next to the albino cory on the bottom not doing anything. It's like they've made my betta an official cory or something. They haven't been attacking just swimming together all day. Never saw this before.

I can only hope mine will start acting like yours tornangel, can't we all just get along?
~Biggy :)
