I've had my tank (38G) up and running for about 4 months now and so far only lost one yo-yo loach (think that was a case of ick that did it, treated with NoxIch and rest survived).

My question is. My wife has had to bring her Male Betta (named Walter) home from work who currently has a 1 gal tank. I'm thinking of transferrring him to my 38G bit like a move from a red roof inn to the hilton and wanted to know whether this would be ok with the other fish i already have in the tank.

4 dwarf gourami
12 lemon tetra
2 yo-yo loach

Would this work?????? What about food types?

Thanks in advance

John

(For anyone that's interested. I started my tank with Bio Spira, no problems with Ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates, etc. )

There may be some conflict with the gouramies--depends on the fish involved. Monitor them for a day or two, and if you don't see problems, they should be okay. The betta can eat the same things as the other fish--just make sure he has a chance to eat. They are slower moving than tetras, so sometimes can't compete as well for food.

i have a betta in my 10 gallon, he has to compete with fast swimming white clouds...he does fine, sometimes i drop food on top of him during feeding if i want him to get a certain kind of food.
