Hi, need help. My betta is really, bad. I get him as a gift from my boyfriend 2 wks ago. He brought him in a 1 gal bowl w/some gravel and a plastic plant. Was doing fine, but I wanted to give better treatment so I bought, a 2.5 gal mini bow aquarium. Aquarium is in my office which is no good, as I just discovered.

Heat is lowered @ night. My tank is plastic so I can't put a heater but I do have a whisper filter. Also, I had the tank near the door..oops...

Well my betta is pretty bad, because his gills look enflamed and they are coming out. It's been a few days. I used Malachite green and did a 50% water change w/a gravel vaccuum. Then I put him in the bowl that he originally came in for 1 day w/ no gravel just a plastic plant. Then I put him back in the 2.5 gal after I treated it for 1 day w/malachite green.

I just did a water change yesterday, should I do one today, also and treat again?

I don't know what to do! I am really sad because my boyfriend got he for me!

PLEASSSEEEE, SOME ADVICE!!! I AM DESPERATE..... :( !!!!!!!

In the article section of the forum there is a very good ich article. I believe you will find it in the archived articles. The salt treatment and heat treatment is best. Of course without a heater that will be tough. There is a very small heater availabel at wal-mart that is supposed to be able to go in those very small tanks. Otherwise find the warmest spot you can.
