i have a betta that i would like 2 no if i could put in my 10 g aquarium along with my neon and black phantom tetras. will they get along? or should i just not put the betta in?

It depends on your betta and on your tetras. It could be perfectly fine, but you'll probably just have to try and see. Are your tetras typically nippy? That's the thing you'll have to watch out for. When I had mine in with my glowlights I'm pretty sure they were nibbling on his tail. It has all grown back quite nicely, now, thankfully. 
i wouldnt do it. i had to put my betta with 2 painted tetra once and they teamed up and attacked my betta
Bettas can be kind of shy in a community setting...and other fish often equate "shy" to "whipping boy" - some tetras can be nippy...including neons...and in a 10g tank, there is not a lot of places where the betta can hide....if it were me, I'd probably pass on putting the betta in that tank...whatever you decide, good luck!
I personally would try it, especially if his current home is under 2 gallons. A 10g would be a lot better for him so long as the other fish don't bug him and vice versa.

I have kept bettas in my community tank but it's heavily planted and a bit larger than 10g.
Sounds like (and I would agree) that it wouldn't work out (space being the main concern) BUT, how hard would it be to net him back out? You'll never know unless you try! There may be some nipping initially. If it gets too serious, get him out. I would think its the black phantoms that will be the problem...?

it wontt be a problem. i have my male bettas in my 25 all the timee. i switch them out into 3 gallons. they all get along with my tank perfectly fine.
