:hi: Hi Every One,

I was thinking tonight that I would love to do to my Tank what Emg has done, but instead of 4 bettas only 3....but the problem is I don’t really know where to get started  ....I have a 5.5g tank set up and cycled....the last inhabitant just passed on :( and the empty tank looks funny....

I have a bubble shell that I’m thinking I would have to get rid of because it causes current in the water....I have an Aqua Clear(what ever the smallest one is I cant remember the number on the box...I think 20) and a 50 watt heater.....and some fake plants....

So where do I start?
What do I use to separate the tank in to 3?

any other advice would be great!

Thanks for all of your help!

as long as the bubble shell isn't forcing one betta to constantly struggle against the water, it should be fine in there. bettas can handle a current, though when you first add them it does take a little bit of time for them to understand what the heck is going on.

As a general rule, bettas don't really like currents, but I've got a male right now who plays with the bubbles coming out of the tube from his UGF.

Here's some directions on how to make those tank dividers. I tried to find the site where I found this info, but apparently it's no long available. I can bring it up on my puter but can't link to it. Too bad, the pics of her setups were nice....

Wait...here it is !

Hope it works....

Ah! Plastic canvas! I've often thought that would make great dividers but I didn't know if anyone actually tried it!

Thanks for all the help....

I just have one last question....before i deside for sure if i'm going to do this.....I have a 5.5 gallon how many sections could i devide the tank in to??

Thanks again

I'm in the same boat as you! I too am setting up a divided 5.5 gallon Betta tank. Mine is not yet cycled though. I am dividing the tank in half. I couldn't stand it if the Bettas had any less room than that.

Thank you for all of the good info you guys gave me....but i think i have desided just to put one betta into my tank...and i was just wondering what else could i put in with him that would be kinda cool to look at?

Maybe some time down the road i will do the split tank thing....

Thanks
