Betta with Bulging Eye

My brother's betta's eye is bulging out. It's quite repulsive. Anyway, I've never seen anything like that before so I don't know what to tell him. I've been telling him to leave the light off the tank thinking that it might irritate the poor fish more. But he swims around and eats all him food, so what gives?

Anyone know what could have caused this or what can be done about it? Thanks.

That's a condition known as 'Pop-Eye'... it's actually pretty common in bettas. Lemme go google the treatments available for it....
