For my upcoming betta tank renovation, i'll have to temporarily relocate both my bettas until their tank is finished. My friend has let me borrow his Eclipse Hex 5G tank to house my betta. If i put the two there, i'll have to furnish a DIY divider so the two can be house in the 5G. but i've been thinking about putting one of the bettas in my 20G tank which houses BF tetras, snails and shrimps so that the other betta can occupy the 5G alone.

some concerns are obviously the compatibility of the betta and black phantom tetras and my expensive as well as beloved amano shrimps. comments?

I would think the tetras might go after the betta's long fins...if it's temporary, you could always get one of those plastic breeder things that floats in or hangs on the tank and put the betta in there - just be sure his tail doesn't hang out the bottom.

Black Phantom Tetras can be nippy but then again they sometimes ignore other fish completely. Mine don't bother any of my other more peaceful fish. Since you have a school of 7 they might be too busy with eachother to notice the betta. Maybe put him in and watch him to see what happens.
