Does anyone have a betta that flares specifically at black objects? Both our current betta, and the one we had before this one, both flared at black objects. It's really weird.

If anyone looks into the tank, the betta comes over. If someone is wearing a black shirt, he flares like mad. If I put a brown purse on the counter in front of his tank, no big deal. If I put my black purse on the counter, he goes nuts. I had assumed fish were colorblind, but maybe not. Anyway, do I have weird fish, or has anyone else had a similar experience?

^^ :iagree:

Also, even if a fish was colour-blind (I don't know whether they are or not) the would still see shades of colours and so black would be 'another colour' or shade. Just because a fish is colour-blind it doesnt mean everything is black and white, there are different shades.
