It's popular because of the visuals & words that sound goofy to English speakers. The song itself is no better or worse than any other pop song, and in fact, sounds just like a dozen others.

For those that didn't watch more than 10 seconds, I recommend you give it a real shot. It's actually meant to be funny, and it accomplishes that well.
