I have a 150 gallon with 8 angelfish, 1 hifin spotted pleco, 1 BGK and just brought home a fire eel. Will he be okay with the BGK?

Im not super familiar with either fish but I would assume they would need to be close to the same size... if not it may not be so good for the fire eel since BGK gets so big

THEORETICALLY a full grown Fire Eel could swallow a full grown BGK, but I wouldn't hesitate to keep them together. Ime Fire Eels aren't very piscivirous for a Spiny Eel. They much prefer worms and usually even krill/shrimp to fish. The BGK will surely eat any fish it can swallow, and it can swallow a bigger fish than you think!

I thought fire eels grew to about 3' long? While I am sure they will be fine together for now I am sure that the ghost knife would look appetizing after a while.

It's about odds I guess. If I had a Tiretrack Eel I wouldn't keep anything with it that it could swallow, because ime they're very piscivorous. They don't get big enough to eat a full grown BGK, but a half grown one would no doubt be food. Fires just aren't as prone to eat fish, although if one fits you shouldn't be totally surprised if that's where it ends up. But again, it's a mix I would attempt without hesitation.
