Hi all,

Recently my dwarf gouramis spawned and created plenty of fry. I recently got some liquifry to feed them, but when i tried to squeeze a couple drops the cap burst off and now half the liquifry is in there! I don't know what to do, the water is all cloudy!!!

My tank is 60cm x 40cm x 30cm. Theres only the fry in the tank...

Any help is greatly appreciated.

All I can suggest is a series of careful yet substantial water changes and perhaps extra filters if you have some not being used lying around..be careful not to suck up the fry....

i would net out all the fry and put them into a separate large container with some of the tank water, then do a big WC on the tank.

Netting out the fry could be a real ordeal trying to catch them. I would do a series of water changes being very careful not to injure or suck up the fry. I think this is the only way to get the water quality back to where it should be.

Run the carbon is a great suggestion, as is doing water changes.

Running carbon IS NOT a substitute for doing water changes. It is for people who desire maximum clarity in their water and minimal influences with detremental undesired DOCs from their replenishment water.

carbon and water changes like the others suggested is best.

you should be doing water cahgnes after the morning feedings and after the evening feedings for optimum growth and development of the fry. be VERY, VERY, VERY careful, because dwarf gourami fry are some of the tiniest.

I would change about 25% of the water twice a day. After 3 days it should be close to normal. What kind of filter have you got in there. You need next to zero flow as long as there is a small ripple on the surface. If it is not a well seeded sponge filter you need something around the intake like a sponge or rig up a barrier with a nylon stocking and cut out plastic bottle so they don`t get sucked up.When changing the water if you put on a peice of nylon stocking with an elastic on the end of the hose you will not suck up any fry.
