BIG BIG PROBLEM! CONTAMINATED WATER!!

You probably done something by now but i have an idea.If you put a large coffee filter inside a spagetti strainer then put that on top of a 5 gallon pail and siphon out 80-90% of the water the coffee filter may take out the liqiud food then you could siphon the water from the pail or pails back in the tank.
 
yeh, lol. Good thinking. I just did plenty of water changes and now i can actually see the fry LOL. I counted roughly 50.

I'm so excited!
 
I have a batch of about 50 that are 5 weeks old.At 7 days I started to feed live bbs which most of them ate and 3 days after that i noticed the fry started to eat each other at only ten days old.. If you have a gravel bottom you could put a saucer or plate(well rinsed of any soap) down and add the crushed flakes over that to see if they are eating them.Thet will be all different sizes so you will want to keep added the fry food for 10 days.

If you let the nylon stocking have a bit of slack (instead of taunt across the hose end) when you hook it on the hose, it will create a pocket to hold the fry til you are done, I used to use this to collect fruit flies with a vacuum for my frogs.
 
If i am looking to pick up uneaten food or other debris I don`t use the nylon but rather do little circles above the area to create a current to drive the fry from the area before starting the suction.
