Big-Eyed or Featherfin?

I just bought an "african catfish" from an old-school fish store which never got business from as long as I remember, (they specialize in goldfish, plants, nd angelfish) and when I went to my LFS to find out exactly what kind of catfish it was, he told me it was a Synodontis Eupterus. I came home and looked this fish up on AquariaCentral... and found out it's called the Featherfin Synodontis. I looked up other fish in the same family, as well as the pics of this Featherfin. The pics match my fish, 'cept I can't really see the eyes. The eyes on my fish are kinda large for his body, and I saw a description of a Big-Eyed Synodontis on the site as well. The designs of the spots match the Featherfin, but the description of the eyes match the Big-Eyed. I don't know if the Big-Eyed has the same pattern as a Featherfin, or if the Featherfin also has big eyes, but not as big as the Big-Eyed. I really have nothing to compare to. I really think it might just be a Featherfin, but what's really steering me towards a Big-Eyed is the fact that once I turned off the white-light, and only kept on the blue-light, he came out from under the driftwood right away... and is actually swimming around. This affects my believes due to the fact that Big-Eyed Synodontis are sensative to lights... Any facts about either species would greatly help me out and I would appreciate any feedback...
