Bio-Spira in the car

I am considering getting a packet of Bio-Spira to help my fishless cycle move along. My 55G tank is set up and I have added ammonia (to about 4.0ppm) I know that with Bio-Spira you can simply add the Bio-Spira and fish at the same time. But I would prefer to use the Bio-Spira to just aid the fishless cycle along (lost too many fish to try it any other way). I could just wait out my cycle, but the last time I did a fishless cycle it took months (I think due to my water being low pH and soft).

Is it Ok to do this? I plan to add the Bio-Spira to the ammonia dosed tank, wait for ammonia to hit 0, nitrites to hit 0 and nitrates to show up and then if neccessary does ammonia until I can go get fish.

The other question I have is that I am at work currently, if I get Bio-Spira from an LFS around here it will have to sit in my car for about 4 hours until I leave at the end of the day, and then for about another hour and a half until I am home. Its pretty **** cold out today so would it be Ok in the car for the rest of the day given that it is supposed to be refridgerated?

Thanks, and I will. Like I said my last fishless cycle was a never ending nightmare (during this I researched on the low pH and softness of water affecting bacteria growth). I am pretty sure that in the end it only cycled due to me adding Seachem Stability, although I would not want to put money on that. Either way I don't want to be staring at an empty 55G for the next couple months.

so you have another tank? if so why dont you just pull media from your other tank. that will jump start the cycle and save your self money.

Everything died in the other tank about 3 months ago, I think something poisoned them (all died overnight) so I tore the tank down to clean it and only just now got a new tank.

It's about 30F here at the moment, guessing it should still be Ok in the car as long as it does not freeze. And would also guess that inside the car is warmer than outside temps (especially after running the car and having heaters on).

Should be as long as it doesn't freeze.
