Hi there! I was wondering if someone could tell me where to get some plants for the biorb. I purchased those 2 little plastic ones but Ive seen nicer ones in other tanks. I don't see any other ones to purchase so I am assuming that the ones I've seen are real plants. Any suggestions as to what plants are easy to maintain and are healthy for fish? Thanks!

As of right now I only have one angelfish which I am nursing back to health. In the future I may have a goldfish or two. I have a goldfish also but not in that tank. I guess if you could let me know what would work well with the angel fish and then also what would work with a goldfish, in case i switch them around. Thanks!

well an angelfish needs at least 40 gallons of water. they also need warm soft slightly acidic water. most any aquatic plant you buy will work fine with an angelfish. personally i would suggest amazon swords.

a goldfish needs at least 30 gallons of water (more if it's a common goldfish/comet) they need cool water, and are adaptable to many varieties of ph and hardness, as long as they are slowly acclimated. almost all aquatic plants you buy will get eaten by a goldfish.

WHOA!!!! You can NOT have goldfish in the biorb! goldfish are pretty much the messiest fish available and grow to the size of a softball!

I would recommend a betta if its the small biorb, but if its the 8 gallon or 16 gallon, you could possible have some rasboras, snails, shrimp, platies, but ABSOLUTELY NOT goldfish.

as for plants, there are PLENTY available in your local pet store.

Wow, good to know. Thats a little confusing. In all of the pictures you see of the biorb all they have are goldfish..loool. So should I take the angelfish out?

people put small goldfish in bowls and biorbs and small tanks for pictures because they are so personable, and everybody instantly recognizes them... makes you want to look at the picture, which they hope will make you want to buy the product.

unfortunately it's very misleading.. trust me, you're not the first to have been fooled by this. i would definitely take the angelfish out and put it in a larger tank.

Thanks alot. I put the angelfish in there because I had to separate him from two little cichlids that bit him. I had to get him out of there or they would have killed him. I am very upset because I just started having fish. I only had 3 which the pet store told me would get along. They almost killed that poor angelfish. Now I am kind of stuck because I dont have the room for another tank. My only other option will be to bring the cichlids back to the pet store. It goes to show you that half the time the people working at these stores dont know half as much as the people who own fish.

WHat kind of cichlids are they?

You know I'm really not sure. They are tiny. Ones pink and one is kind of clear. There was also a yellow one but he died right away. I dont know if that helps, lol. They are very cute but dangerous. haha..
