biting

My Malawi's do this to me. It was kind of funny at first, but after a while it got old.

So what I did was when I am cleaning the gravel and such, I work with one hand and have net in the other. The fish nip at it instead of my hand.

I also have a real biter on my hands, literally

When ever I am cleaning the tank, I have to fight my female oscar off with the syphon and that don't always work, she will find ways around it if your not paying attention. It doesn't really hurt as much as it scares the heck out of you.

I have to do a water change tonight and I am not looking forward to it at all. I have a feeling I'm in for the fight of my life tonight. She has been on a mission for a week now in that tank. She has built herself a fortress. I have gravel piled in some areas, 8" high at either ends of the tank. She has three holes dug out in different areas.

Its kind of funny to watch. She will be digging furiously in one hole, stop, and I swear you can her the little voice in her head, telling her something is amiss at the next hole. Next thing ya know, she's flying across the tank to check it out.

for some reason iam very very scared of my fish biting me.they kinda give me the he-b-g-bes

my oscar too

heh, that's why we moved my 10" oscar to another tank when we clean :)

Jon

Well, the occassional bite is all part of keeping fish. Removing the fish to do a water change is just added stress, why would I want to do that?

yep it happens some times.

removing your fish every water change is definetly too much stress on the fish.
