I was wondering if a Black Ghost Knife Fish would be compatible with the following fish?
2 Bolivian Rams
10 Cardinal Tetras
10 Black Neon Tetras
5 Bronze Cories

I also have another setup I might put the Black Ghost Knife Fish it has the following fish?
1 Gold Severum
1 Bolivian Ram
1 Pepper Corie
3 Angelfish
2 Ireddescent Sharks

i wasn't finished

I wasn't finished that I accidentlly clicked submit Both of the tanks are 40g's and wichever one would work better for the black ghost is wich he will go in Thaye have 3 at petsmart that are about 3inches for 25.99 canadian each so i will buy one if they are compatible. Oh and a 10g's probably to small but he could have a 10g all to himself if a 10g not to small.

As for the fish, I'm unsure because I've never kept those fish with a BGK and I don't know much about them. BGKs aren't too aggressive, unless it's towards other electric fish. However a 10 gal is WAY too small for one, when they get bigger they'll need at least a 90gal. Also irredescent sharks get huge, just so you know.

i had a black ghost for only a short while. it was never aggressive, but i did research enough to find that they will eat the smaller fish as they become large enough to do so. they also need at least a 55 gallon tank when grown, because they get to be 18" i believe. mine was getting to the point it would eat out of my hand when it mysteriously died. i had him in a 75 gallon tank, with 3 pearl gouramis, 3 moonlight gouramis, 2 rubberlipped plecos, and 4 dwarf gouramis. they all seemed ok together, i dont know what happened except the water may have been to hard and the pH was 7.8 which may have also contributed. oh, and i heard they grow fast- good luck, hope this is helpful, it is only a personal experience.

I have one right now in a 75g. He is very peaceful towards everything I have (angels, congo tetras, otos, clown loaches) however, w/ the expception of the otos, everything is large. So deffinetly do not put them w the cardinals. It may be okay in the other tank for a little while, however all of those fish eventually will need a bigger tank (- the ram & cory) severums will get very large and quite nasty, angels are one of those fish where its hit or miss as far as temperment but they get pretty large, Irritesent sharks (cant spell) get HUGE, look under the post pictures of your fish thread at Hans IS its on the first page. so i wouldnt recomend it unless your going to be getting a larger tank like soon

I used to have one in with a silver arowana (when it was about 4-6")

It was a great fish had it about 7 months before it died randomly (finethat night, next day after work dead). It was never aggressive towards the arowana or pim cats but it did snag a guppy here and there when I would occasionally feed feeders so I would say small fish are a nono

I have never had any black ghost less than 6 inches, so I'm not sure about the behavior of the 3" ones, but mine would attack, kill and eat guppies ocassionally, and would "accidentally" bite (that proved to be fatal) on "stationary" fish like otos, and once cut (but did not eat) a catfish in half when it wander into the ghost cave...
