Black out vs Hair Algae

Wow you spent quite a bit already on the CO2 system. :)

My plan is to kill them by blacking out, then do some experiments:

1. back to 2.5wpg + CO2
2. lower to 1.5wpg and no CO2

I'm gonna go with which ever one results in lower algae growth. I really don't want to start fertilizing tanks and no pressured CO2 for me. :)

Right now I'm about 2.5wpg with CO2 and I'm still getting the hair algae, I might suggest the 1.5wpg, I really wasn't looking forward to the pressurized CO2, I wanted to avoid it due to costs, but then I realized after spending what I did on my light, I may as well.

Hmm, so I should try 1.5wpg scenario first and see if that works better for me then.

Yeah, that would probably be my best guess so far, my pressurized CO2 should arrive in 1-2 weeks, I need to keep the Hair Algae down until then and I will let you know how that goes. But when your black out is finished please post your results on here! :)

I have not tried to use any, I want to find a permanent solution as opposed to having to constantly dose anti algae products, thank you for the assistance though :)
