Black sand ... ???

Is it possible to use or even get black sand for my future tank.
I would really like to set up my future tank with a black sand bottom look but have yet to see any pics of a black sand tank.

I remember seeing a tank with a pic of black sand, it looked really cool, ill see if i can try and find it again.
