Bleach Solution for Algae

I run everything thru the dishwasher with soap.
Only decor such as plastic rocks and nets is being cleansed that way.
No sponges, nor filter material.
Afterward I rinse everything well under running water. I found using this method will eliminate bacteria or parasites from an "illness tank".
Perhaps I have been only lucky so far, but for the hard scape material I feel it has done a good job.
