I moved a blenny that was incredibly thin into my tank thinking he would do better in an established tank...I was wrong. I think he was malnourished and that's why he died.

Problem is, I CANT FIND THE BODY NOW. What will this do to my tank if I can't find it? Can I just keep monitoring my parameters just in case I get an ammonia spike? Will my 3 emerald crabs and hermits feed on the hiding body?

I had the same problem. My hermits and other fish ate the body I think. This happened about 4 months ago and I never got a spike in my water params in anyway. I moved all the rock and sifted the sand and never found a trace of the body. So to answer your question your hermits and emeralds probably already ate it.

Yes, your emeralds and hermits will take care of it in no time if it is in there. Just monitor ammonia like you said. If you have a sump, look in your overflow box really good (turn off pump), and check throughly under any places around the tank.

look on the floor also, I had 1 once and didn't see him for a few days and then I found him on the floor behind my tank when I did my water change

was this the same one you lost in the other post :)

I wouldn't doubt that many, many things contributed to it going missing. Even if you didn't have larger animals like emerald crabs, serpent stars, hermits, etc., amphipods and bristleworms will also make very short work of a carcass.

yes, this is the same fish that got sucked into my filter a couple months ago lol. Unfortunately, he is dead. I saw the body last night in a hard to reach area. I should have tried getting him then because he disappeared after that! Thanks for all you help guys!

I have no sump or overflow to worry about....the body is in the tank.

I had the same problem a year or so ago with a demasoni cichlid. never found him....only invert i had at the time was a large apple snail...maybe he got him..
