I think perhaps my koi is blind. He was swimming around at the surface of the tank opening and closing his mouth, I thought perhaps he was skimming and eating something off the surface I couldn't see (any thoughts on this hypothesis?). Then he ran into the lily pad and seemed quite perplexed by it. He kept kind of backing up and trying to go through again, and turning (into another area blocked by the lily pad) and it took him awhile to get out of that. Then my boyfriend stuck his hand in the water right in front of the fish and he swam right into it. My boyfriend even picked him out of the water. So my question is, can fish be blind?
