just wondered if anyone can help i have a male guppy who is excessivly bloated and spends most of his time on the bottom of my tank. i have tested my water and i do regular water changes none of my other fish are remotely unwell so im really confused ive searched the web for illnesses but none of the symptons match. i have been told it might just be old and gettin ready to die?:help:

how often do you feed them?
what do you feed them?
how long has he seem bloated for?

every other day as recomended by my nearest aquatic store i use hikari flakes and twice a week tetra freeze dried blood worm. seemed lathargic for bout week i guess been bloated compared to other two guppys few weeks. i think sorry:confused:

get some peas and thaw them in a cup of water from the fish tank and then pour them in the tank, doesnt matter if they float the fish will eat them and if he is constapated which can cause bloatedness it will clear his stomach.

works for my fish

Don't you have to peel the peas first?

depends on the size of the fish. with my dads tank i just threw them in and they ate them whole once they stopped chasing round surface of water.

but im not 100% sure if peeling is required

Is it only bloated after feedings or has it been bloated for a while? It could just be air in his system if it's only after feedings. you can soak the flakes in water and then feed them to them so they don't get as much air in their stomaches while they're eating.

was bloated continous for couple of days but when i got home friday he had died. all my other fish are tip top so unsure what caused it. thanx for the responses
