so abuot a week ago i noticed my blood parrots laid eggs...i didnt think much of it knowing that blood parrots are usally sterile. But today i happened to glance in the clay pot and there be BABIES!!!!!
WOOT WOOT!!!! with my luck i dont have a cam right now but i will try to get pics up as soon as i can. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeee:headbang2: :headbang2: :dance: :dance:
 
wow thats awsome i was under the influence that blood parrots could not spawn i cant waite to see the pics

i have convict fry in the same tank 1 week old and they look almost identical...kinda dark gray

My Blood Parrot female have successfully mated with a Hybrid male Flowerhorn, So they are no longer "mules".
 
I'd also like to see some pics when they are big enough. It will be fun to see what they would look like when they have colours :)

Mostly, the males are... I've heard estimates of as many as 99% of males being sterile. Females are fertile, at least most of the time.

At any rate, it's pretty rare stuff, and congrats on the fry!
