Most of the dog and cat breeds (which the poster, with his wording, implied were hybrids and also said erroneously were "species") do not have intentional malformities and they are screened to make sure that malformities to something as important as the swim bladder or mouth itself are not present.
Count me as "not getting it"--there are quite a few cheap, large cichlids that haven't been put through the genetic wringer yet have all of the positive behavioral traits that the BP has, but people choose that one.
Parrots are great fish to keep, tons of personality, great colors that really pop, and they are excellent conversation pieces, every time a guest, friend or family come by they no request to see my two parrots feed, they get a big kick out of seeing them be hand fed... They are probably the cutest fish in the industry, and have a very cartoonish appeal to them.
