Bolivian rams and blue rams together?

If they each have room to establish seperate territories, I should think so. Perhaps you could set a some sort of divisional marker so that it is easier for them to make boundaries....Like some big piece of driftwood or something.

Do you have a lot of other bottom dwellers competing for space? If so, then you might have a problem...

I agree with what Kathy says..
the Ramerezi and the Altispinosa can get along..both are gerneally peacful(except when breeding/spawning)
a 55 should have ample room for both , providing you give enough cover and structure for them to establish territories.

Well as far as other bottom dwellers, I have 6 pepper cories, 2 tiger plecos, 2 ID sharks(soon moving to larger tank) and 4 clown loaches(soon moving to lagrer tank). When I say soon, I mean within the next 4 months.

That's ALOT of bottom Dwellers for a 55!

You will be putting cories at risk with Rams in there as a Ram will thrash a Cory during spawning to protect eggs.

The 2 bolivian rams I have are both males. They don't bother anyone except each other.

Hmmmmm.....
Brokeback Aquarium??? :fairy:

You should break up the line of sight in the tank. Put a couple peices of driftwood or the like along the length of the tank so the rams can't see each other well.

As to the cories getting beaten on, only if they are morons and keep wandering over by the rams. Please, they will be fine. I think if my pygmy cories could get along in a 20gal Long with a spawning pair of Blue Rams there isn't much of an issue. They learn quick and stay away from the Ram's territory.

The tank has 2 pieces of driftwood, a rock cave, another type of cave and about 14 plants. The rams just kinda spar off at each other from time to time, when one comes into the others territory. When the cories are out around the rams, the rams pay no attention to them at all.
