The wife and I went to the 12:55 showing. If you liked and watched and understood Identity and especially Supremacy, then you'll love this one.

I was vaguely disappointed in some of the action scenes. The 1/2 second camera switches along with the non-stabilized camera make it difficult to follow. You know something cool is going on, but it's just hard to figure out what.

The plot is better than Supremacy and I almost hesitate to say it, but maybe slightly better than Identity.

four and a half stars.

SPOILER WARNING: (but not too much)

One of the cooler points about this movie is that it interleaves with Supremacy. Just the ending of Supremacy. Ultimatum begins with Bourne running through the Russian winter with police after him. The final scene of Supremacy occurs about 3/4 of the way through this movie.

Nicky makes a comeback (thank goodness) and we find something very interesting about her and Bourne's history before Treadstone.

We find out what an utter and complete liar Abbot was to the senate committee at the end of Identity. Blackbriar is a communication program... my left nut.

We found out how far the rot at the CIA goes and who created Jason Bourne.

i CANNOT wait until i get to go see this.. i loved the first two.

anybody read the books? ;)

Just got back from seeing this movie and all I have to say is WOW...I do agree with the OP on his opinion of this movie. I also agree with the camera issues. I felt a little woozy on the fight scenes. I will say though, my heart pounded and I found myself anxious in some parts. It was a blast.

Oh wow, I never knew that. I will have to check them out of the library. I prefer to read books rather than watch movies, but I do enjoy seeing a movie after I've read the book so I can see what is different hehe.

The ONLY thing the books and the movie have in common is Jason Bourne.

Personally (and this is a rare statement), the movies are better. Robert Ludlum is not a very good writer. He doesn't do his research and his writing style is something like watching grass grow.

SPOILER WARNING:
The books take place from the mid eighties to the end of the cold war. Jason Bourne and Treadstone were conceived as a deep cover operation to eliminate Carlos the Jackal. The first three books end with a big fight at a KGB operation headquarters in the USSR.

Marie, in the books, is a Canadian Economic Advisor and is kidnapped by Bourne. She lives and the two have several children during the series.

Wow, just from hearing the concept of the books, I already like the movies better...just saw it today...it was AWESOME! I was really starting to hate David Strathairn thorughout that movie...he just pissed me off...I was confused at some parts but I remembered a lot when everything was explained towards the end...
