Brackish Plants

I was just wondering if anyone has had luck with any particular plants in brackish? And also with a Scat? The LFS is having a 50% sale next week and I am going to re-stock my brackish tank with plants.

Last year when I setup my 40G brackish tank I tried lots of different plants in it that were all rated for light brackish water. Some survived some didnt. Some were eaten. In the end it seems like the remaining 2 species of plants that survived the brackish environment and the Scat didnt touch were Vall. Americana, and Java Ferns. I also tried Bacopa, Anacharis, amazon sword, crinkle onion, anubias, and probably another one or two I forgot about.

Just curious if anyone else had much luck?

I'm amazed that any made it. Normally just the plastic ones survive

You might try widgeon grass (Ruppia). It is adapted to brackish estuaries. www.billsreef.com carries it.

Thanks for the replies. I might try to acllimate some java moss as I have extra in my feeder tank. Anyone know if a scat will eat java moss? As for the widgeon grass I might ask for it to see if aquarium adventure has it here but I dont really want to spend the extra money of mail ordering live stuff. With dozens of lacal places here I only buy what I get a chance to see locals and talk to the reps about. And the reason for me restocking right now is because there having a 50% off sale.

Yeah I saw that website when I put plants in my tank the first time. Some of those plants didnt work out so well. The best plant I had adapted to brackish wasnt even listed there as brackish capable, they indacate no. :huh:
