For Christmas I received a 29g. It's exactly what I wanted and I'm psiked about it. I already have a filter cycled by my goldfish in their tank (and will remove some media and put it in a new filter for them after I exchange filters) and I'm considering my stocking options.

I would like one firemouth and one angelfish. Are these two compatible? From what I've researched they are compatible so long as neither species is breeding. Maybe a few dither fish thrown in for good measure. I want a natural looking Central American theme. I'd appreciate your follow up, and look forward to your input. :)

WEll what size are your goldfish in? If its a smaller tank it will be healthier for them to move into the bigger one and stock their old one

They are both juvies. One is a beautiful orange/white Pearlscale and the other a healthy Red Cap Oranda. One will stay in the 15 and the other will have his very own 20.

I would avoid the Angel if you wish to do a C/A theme. Some swordtails would be an attractive counterpoint to the FM and would be Central American to boot.

female firemouths can get to 3 feet I believe.

Would a FM and an angel be compatible? It may not be a Central American, so to speak. I think the layout of the tank would display something Central American (ie. green hues and tan/black gravel).

?????

I really, really hope that "inches" was what was meant by the poster a few posts back, but even then, I think there are females larger than 3"...
