Breeding Amano Shrimp

I have some berried Amano Shrimp. I am only looking for to try to raise one group. Is it worth the time an effort? Can I do this without any investment?

I was thinking I could move two of the shrimp to a large jar till the shrimp hatch and then move the adults back to the main aquarium. Then transfer the babies to saltwater and feed them special foods.

Can I do this that low tech?

maybe if you bought pre mixed sw and mixed in distilled i think tey need bw not sw.

The larvae will need brackish water, as well as brackish/marine green water for food.

Personally, if you're only interested in rearing one brood, it is not worth the time, money, and effort. From personal experience, the first batch you'll get a small percentage near adult stage, but most likely all will die off before that happens. It usually takes three to five attempts to get a good percentage to survive.

You'll also need things, such as brine shrimp hatcheries, hatching tanks, and equipment/techniques to slowly decrease salinity levels, without sucking out the larval shrimp.
