Breeding Jewels

I have a pair of breeding Cichlids and have noticed that both times after about a day or so hovering over the eggs they moved them to a small ditch they made. From there they took turns watching the fry. I also nothiced that they did scoop the eggs up right before hatching them.

how do u distinguish male and female jewels

A male jewel is larger than a female jewel and usually more colorful. The dot pattern on the tail fin is the easiest way to tell. The male jewel has a tail fin full of dots with a semi-circle pattern. The females tail fin has a random pattern of dots, usually only on the top of the tail fin.
