Hi guys, I need some advice on Koi breeding. I have a 6000L outdoor pond with a dozen Koi fish. Some of them are quite big, like at least 15lb. I've had some of them for over 10 years but they have never spawned. Or at least I have never noticed it. I had plenty of floating plants like water lettuce that I removed completely because the roots were getting tangled in the pump's impeller and blocking the pump almost every week. Now I have only tiger lotus on top and a big Argentine Sword emerged.

Someone suggested I should give it a push by adding some mop like stuff of wool or polyester floating around and this will encourage the koi to spawn. I am thinking of trying that out as it sounds simple enough. I also have 2 IR sharks, 2 comets, 1 pleko, and a million (or at least it feels like it) Million Fish (wild guppies). If I have to prepare an alternate temporary pond to relocate 2 or 3 koi just for this, I might as well give up already. I don't want to stress them with the move and I don't want the stress myself!

My question is this. What are my chances of this working in the pond itself? Anything thing I should know before attempting this? Is there a climate or temperature this is more appropriate for?

Below are a couple of short videos of the fish. These vids are a year old.
