breeding neon tetra

i am trying to breed neon tetra..
i have followed the general rules that i can find in the internet..
i was able to get to fish spawning( i saw eggs at the bottom of the breeding tank), somehow i just couldn't have any fry hatched?
i kept the tank in dark for a week after removed the parent. i kept the temp at 76F. any suggestions?

Can you explain what the eggs looked like when you seen them. I think that there are some in my tank, but I cannot be sure. I have looked on the net too and cannot find anything about what they look like.
