Does anyone know if the dario darios eat their fry? I have put a pair in a 10g tank by themselves, and feeding them grindal worms hoping they will lay some eggs.

Also, any suggestions to promote spawning other than feeding live food?

not as far as i know they care for young like cichlids, but there is a chance,.. but their mouth are so smal,..lol if they make it a while they should be fine,..

That sounds great!

I found a fry a few days ago in my community tank, so I thought it'd be fun to try to raise some dario darios, as well. I'm curious to know what kind of fish this fry will turn out to be!

That's really cool. I have an empty tank (hopefully getting set up this weekend). I'm having Endlers for sure, but I was thinking about a bottom fish. I'm back and forth about BN's, and then I came across scarlet badises. I immediately wanted some. I'm doing a heavily planted tank and I'm designing it to work some caves in. I just hope Endlers will leave the fry alone.

they wont,.. the females get rather big and tend to eat some of their own,.. they are, like all liverbearers, at least that i've had, are horrible pigs and act starved to death 3 seconds after all food is eaten..
