A brevis pair I have has spawned but the fry have not become freeswimming yet. I have four in a 10 gal, and am unsure of the sex of the other two. I was wondering if when they become free swimming if the other two will try to eat the pairs fry. Also how soon can I remove them from their parents to a rearing tank.

You shouldn't need to remove the fry at all. Brevis are colony breeders, like most shellies. The other brevis should recognize that they aren't food as well as the parents, you can probably rear them right in the tank they are in now with no problems.

yes I've heard that but want to maximize the survival rate and get the pair to breed again as soon as possible. Also unlike other shelldwellers brevis will "make room" for the second spawn by removing the first and as it is a 10 gal with four brevis it is not to likely that many will be able to hide to full size.
Besides by putting them in a rearing tank I can speed their rate of growth with the added space. thanks though

it sounds like from descriptions I've found that no canableism is exhibited and any losses would have to be atributed to other causes.
I would caution against removeing all the fry all at once as one of the parents may blame the other for the disapearance and beat them up.
