Brichardi Question

Hi Friends !

I just found that one of my Brichardis is developing a Yellowish Color on the dorsal fin area. So is this a different brichardi species ? If yes then are they still as aggresive as the normal brichardi and will they still breed and raise the babies like the normal ones ?

Same species, same spawning behavior. The yellow finned Brichardi is most commonly called Neolamprologus Pulcher, but recent research has shown they are one and the same fish: http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/item.php?news=1426
Personally I think they're more attractive, so congrats!

Yep agreed with afro also if the fish has a lightly speckling of orange spots it could be a Helianthus as well..

The regular Brichardi aka fairy cichlid, Brichardi pulcher aka Daffodil and the Helianthus all resemble each other just different color patterns is all and are aggressive when breeding..
