brittle star....

hey i got a brittle star about 3 weeks ago and last night it just rippede itself apart now there is 3 parts that are goin around will they eventually die or live to be a whole star?

Yes, they do reproduce asexually...the part that effectivly looks like it has nothing will grow back...

they do reproduce asexualy, but for it to happen that quickly in your tank suggests that it may be stressed out. how old is the tank, what are the water params, and how did you aclimate it? stars tend to be quite sensitive, especialy to salinity changes
