I just hooked up my bubble wand and only half of it is making bubbles. It's getting more than enough air but with nil results. I even hooked up air to both sides and still nothing. Am I doing something wrong here?

How big is your tank? Is your air pump able to push enough air for your tank size?

Try this, put the bubble wand barely under the surface of the water and see if all of the wand throws out bubbles. If it does, then most likely your air pump isn't powering up the bubble wand in deeper water. You might have to get another air pump if that is the case.

My tank is a 29 gallon and the pump is rated for a 60 gallon. I tried what you said. Just under the surface it still only works on one side. I'm going to buy a new one and see if the problem persists.

Yep, or also pricking the other end with a needle to see if that opens up some pores. If the wand is new, return it.

If it is brand new it may take some time to permiate with water and open up.

try letting it soak in water with no air being moved through it for a couple of days.

I had a long one (36") that I could never get to produce bubbles evenly. one side would be large bubbles, the others would be a fine wall, and it looked ugly.... but sometimes it would start working right :)

soaking seemed to help mine a bit..... though in the end, I decided not to use it lol.

Never cared for the long ones, always odd ball performance from them
