This cory has been like this for several weeks. No other fish in the tank show any signs of this. I transferred fish from a 55 that they have been in for years a couple months ago. This fish did not have these when removed from the 55. Both tanks are heavily planted, have been running for years. I over filter so this 75 gallon is running a Powerhead and 2 huge hob, plus airstone. I was dosing Co2, but removed the plants that required it to a different tank. There was also a large canister but it fritzed out so I added the second hob.
Parameters are all good, temp runs 78 to 80, ph around 7.6. I do twice monthly water changes, about 1/4 to 1/3.
Livestock includes around 7 cories, 3 rainbows, 13 Kerri tetras, 5 guppies, 3 platys, a Vampire pleco, some blue dream shrimp, and 3 gobies I caught in a local pond. They were quarantined and added only recently, after noticing the cory.
The cory seems healthy, not losing weight or rubbing on rocks or wood.
There is very little substrate in this tank, not enough to cover the bottom. There is some wood, and some large rocks for hides.
I can’t get a good enough pic to determine what the white things are, the rest look like large bubbles.
I’ve had fish for over 50 years, never seen anything like this.
I should add that these cories were wild caught (the Venezuelans), the Gold Lasers were tank bred. They are around 4 years old.
Any ideas?
