Bubbles per minute?

I do one drop every 3-4 seconds in my 29g, but i've been told to bump it up some also.

Do you have a drop checker? How are you diffusing it into the tank? Are you using a ph controller? I would probably start at 1 every 2 seconds and see what the drop checker looks like after a couple hours, but there are many possible answers depending on your system. Tell us more about it.

I beleive the standard is to start at 1 bps and go from there. Again it's hard to have an approximation because it depends on how much surface agitation you have, and what type of diffuser you have. For example, I had an internal reactor on my 29 and i was up to 3-4 bps. I switched to the co2 mist method and i was around 2-3 bps, Know i have an up atomizer and i'm around 1.5-2 bps. I have a lot of surface agitation causing some loss of co2 so that's why i typically run my bps slightly higher.

2-3bps (bubbles per Second) it Ideal DEPENDING on surface movement. If you have A LOT of surface aggitation then 5-6bps is what you would aim for.

If you don't have the drop checker (with calibrated 4dKH) solution, GET IT before you hook up the system.

We have a CO2 reactor 500 from Red Sea to dissolve the CO2, the Red Sea CO2 Indicator and a Milwauki pressure regulator with a selenoid and bubble counter on it. Very little surface aggitation. We do have a spray bar but it's pointed slightly downward.

1) put the spray bar under water.
2) Start with about 1-2 bubble per second.
3) Adjust as needed.
