Buch of questions here, gold fish and guppies

If you leave the water cold the guppies will die with the fry (baby fish) and if you leave it tropical the goldfish wont get enough oxygen and the water will get to hot and plus goldfish get really big for a 10g.

Why will he get realy big in warm water, cant i do a inbetween temp for them?

Tech, again please read the posts that are posted.

Cold water fish require more oxygen in their water more so than tropical fish.
Gold fish produce a lot of waste that will cause a lot of problems in the long run. causing you to do more water changes in the long run, a couple a week.
Also goldfish will easily out grow a 10 gallon and require a larger tank in the size of 55 gallons and up. Actually, goldfish are more work than the live bearers, in upkeep. And plus, once the goldfish will get to a certain size.. guppies=lunch.
So again, please do some research and reading, check out the links that i posted before.

tech, I think everyone was trying to help, but it seemed like you had not read their answers. They DID answer your questions :) The goldfish will not get really big because he is in warm water, he will get really big b/c they grow to be BIG fish, but people have the misconception that they will stay small/can be kept in bowls, etc.

Goldfish and Guppies are not compatible species period. Goldfish are cold water, need high O2 saturation levels, and create huge amounts of waste that warrant frequent, if not daily water changes, and require large tanks. Guppies are Warm water fish, 78 degrees being ideal for them, they create low amounts of waste, and will over populate most tanks in absolutely no time. The goldfish will also become aggressive with some age and then kill off the guppies. So as everyone else has said, don't do it, you have been told why several times. Don't get mad because we're telling you not too, would it be better if we all told you it was ok and you went and did it only to find out it doesn't work? Learn from our expirience and knowledge so you don't have to learn that hard way.
