I'm looking for information on building an outdoor shallow grow-out tank for salvaged seagrass. I work for a non-profit environmental organization and we are looking to expand our restoration effort into seagrass meadows. I am looking for information on building large grow-out tanks that will be shallow enough to do plant maintenance. We are located in the Florida Panhandle so the weather is hot and it can be rainy during hurricane season.
Should I construct it out of concrete?
How should I have my plumbing done?
What equipment will I need to buy/build?
I need to maintain a salinity level of 25-35ppt, how do I do that in an outdoor tank?
This also needs to be an inland, closed system.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. - I have no experience in aquarium keeping besides a small 29gal tank set-up I am using for some seagrass.
