So me and my wife are out one day and I wanted to stop in to a LFS to see what they've got in stock, we pass a tank with (hybrid)Blood Parrots in it, and instantly my wife falls in love with them. I explain to her, what little she knows about the aquatic hobby, that those fish are man made; you know not natural. She replies, I don't care I want those. So here's my dilemma, I really don't know much about these fish. I have an empty 55 gallon being cycled right now. I want to build this tank around the Blood Parrot(3 or 4 of them). What are some suggestions for other inhabitants?

many things could live with them.. a pleco, some tiger barbs, angelfish, most catfish and most midsized tetras and danios would work well :)

well as im sure the fish shop told you parrots can either be v friendly or v aggressive it all depends on what ones have been bought i have one parrot with kissing goramai x2 platy's guppy's and dwarf blue g'mais the only thing i would say is not to place with other cichlids . the tank must have lots of hiding places as parrots like to hide ie coconut shells and well planted for others to get away from them. as they will grow quite large its probably best to go for large'ish fish like golden or opaline goromai. but youll definatly have some fun with the parrots . so good luck !

not to bash or anything, but bad choice. I'd go for a real cichlid tank, you can make your 55 into a decent malawi or other cichlid tank. Try showing your wife some Mbuna cichlids, or appistogramma. That might change her mind.

i have 2 blood parrots with a spotted cat and another cat fish and they dont seem to bother each other

well certainly he has made up his mind  so he just wants info.

I have a blood parrot Love him!

I would only put two BP's in a 55g, any more than two of them and you will have aggression issues with them when they get bigger.

You could put some giant danios and a medium size pleco in with them.

I have two blood parrots and they are very docile with each other and there tankmates. I've seen a single BP in a tank beat the living hell out of its co-inhabitants. Just depends on the fish, but I'd get at least two if you're going to get them. Not sure they have figured out how to sex them yet, but I'd suggest 1 male and 2 or more females.
