Thank you,

I just use Bulbs I got at Menards- 1 Full Spectrum and 1 Gro-Lux, say's it's designed for plants and fish- has a bit of a purple tinge to it that really pops the colors on my fish- most noticeably the orange platy and dwarf flame gourami. Heck of a lot cheaper than bulbs from LFS too..

I am a fan of Drs Foster and Smith. I generally get the Coralife bulbs, but to each his own. I like the 10K and Actinic combination of bulbs. It makes for a nice white light.

I usually get coralife bulbs from the drs as well. I recently switched out one 6700k bulb for a colormax and run them with a couple of 10000ks This combination looks good and the plants seem fine. Interestingly my minor algae problem has disappeared with this lighting.
Are you talking about t5 bulbs?

For that application you don't need anything fancy or expensive.
Standard daylight fluorescent tubes will work great.
Home Depot/Lowe's/lighting shop/etc should have them.
